Enteral Tube Feeding Competency Assessment
Aims of this course
During this course you will be assessed on their competency:
- The learner can demonstrate how to prepare the feed
- The learner can discuss different feeding techniques
- The learner can discuss how they will care for the tubes and the person they care for.
- The learner will know what to look out for
- The learner can describe how they will handle adverse situations
- The learner can identify:
- NasoGastric Feed Tubes (NG)
- Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy Tube (PEG)
- Buttons
- Jejunostomies (JEJ / G-JEJ)

Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level one in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
The qualification is suitable for learners of 16 years of age and above.
Progression
Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as:
- Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support (RQF).
- Level 2 Diploma in Care (RQF)
- Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF)
Funding
This course is not eligible for additional funding.
