Enteral Tube Feeding
Aims of this course
During this course you will learn:
- What is an enteral tube
- How tubes are inserted and cared for
- Preparation to feed
- Feeding techniques
- What to look out for
- How should the carer handle adverse situations
- Tube the learner will use:
- NasoGastric Feed Tubes (NG)
- Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy Tube (PEG)
- Buttons
- Jejunostomies (JEJ / G-JEJ)

Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level one in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
The qualification is suitable for learners of 16 years of age and above.
Progression
Successful learners can progress to other qualifications such as:
- Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support (RQF).
- Level 2 Diploma in Care (RQF)
- Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (RQF)
